What is Order Promising?

Order promising is the system of promising a delivery date to the customer, while ensuring that a company can fulfill the order with flexibility and reliability. The order promising function can calculate the earliest shipping of a product and accordingly calculate the delivery date based on the speed of transport.

The most common example would be ecommerce websites where the tentative delivery date is displayed based on the time of placing the order. There are a few delivery control methods that help in predicting the exact date and time of delivery. And in case the delivery is delayed, order promising is accordingly updated, and the tentative time of delivery is conveyed to the customer.
