What is Supply Chain?

Supply chain refers to the range of activities involved in delivering goods from their point of origin to the consumer. The first part covers the entire production cycle — from raw materials or components to the finished product — while the second part involves getting that product from the manufacturer to the distributor, retailer, and end user.

Modern supply chains are extremely complex. The best supply chains are cloud-based and have big data and machine learning (ML) at their core, which enables communication, information sharing and collaboration with multiple tiers of suppliers, logistics providers and partners.
