Acquisition to expand Procure- to-Pay (P2P) footprint in the Energy & Utilities sector

Clark, New Jersey
January 9, 2012

Leader in procurement transformation, GEP today announced that it has acquired Enporion, a supply chain management company based in Tampa, Florida. GEP has been providing sourcing and procurement solutions since 1999 across many industries, one of which is their Energy and Utilities practice, and has been growing with leading strategic sourcing, consulting and SaaS based source-to-pay technology.

Enporion provides strategic sourcing and e-procurement applications and serves customers in the electric and gas utilities, manufacturing and distribution industries. Founded in 2000, the company achieved the distinction of being named to Supply & Demand Chain Magazine's Top 100 list for five consecutive years (2006-2010). In January 2011, Enporion was also named among the fifty “Florida Companies to Watch.”

GEP will brand Enporion as “A GEP Company” and Enporion CEO George Gordon and the key members of his team will be retained. GEP will continue to support and maintain Enporion products and services. Over time, Enporion Technology will be integrated into GEP Technology in complete collaboration with customers.

“With this acquisition, Enporion and its customers will derive benefits by becoming a part a larger organization focused on customer delight and best-in-class solutions,” stated George Gordon, CEO Enporion.

GEP co-founder and CEO, Dr. Subhash Makhija noted, “GEP will leverage Enporion’s decade-long Energy and Utilities industry expertise and accelerate our already strong footprint in this space.”

GEP and Enporion will jointly exhibit at the Platts 10th Annual Strategic Supply Chain Management for Utilities Conference, to be held January 16-18, 2012, at Hotel del Coronado, Coronado, CA.
