What is Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR)?

Supply chain operations reference model (SCOR) is a management tool to optimize supply chain decisions such as communicating or addressing issues between an enterprise and its suppliers and customers. The ultimate aim of SCOR is to satisfy customer demands.

SCOR provides a basis for improving the supply chain processes. The Supply Chain Council developed the SCOR model with help of leading global manufacturing companies. The SCOR model was designed to aid strategic decision-making for supply chains. Companies benefit from the model through its framework, which focuses on five area within the supply chain – plan, source, make, deliver and return – to identify issues and create a roadmap to address the challenges.
